This week the Republican National Convention will be held from Monday, September 1st through Thursday, September 4th in St. Paul, Minnesota. We will repeat last week’s meditation with a particular focus on St. Paul beginning this Sunday, August 31st (again 12:15 to 12:30 pm Eastern) and continuing through the week (if you are able).
Some people reported holding specific intentions (e.g., honesty, ethics, etc.) as they created the white light and blue rays last week. Feel free to do the same if you would like. The week following we’ll shift our focus to the nation as a whole and will begin to specifically incorporate those desires into our intentional meditation work.
A few minutes before 12:15 you may want to get into your meditation posture and begin the relaxation phase.
Stage 1:
Sit (or lay down) so that you are relaxed and comfortable but your spine is straight and aligned over your pelvis (if seated).
Begin by taking several slow, deep breaths.
Follow the sensation of the breath down into your body.
Breathe into your spine, your hips, and then your legs.
Feel the breath reach your feet on the floor and then feel the connection through your feet to the earth’s energy.
Draw the earth’s energy up through your feet into your body.
Feel your body fill completely with this energy from your breath and the earth.
Invite your own personal spiritual guides to join you in the meditation.
Ask for those in the spiritual realm who want to assist us in this project to be present.
If you have trouble feeling centered and fully in your body or feeling grounded to the earth ask Guidance to help you.
Stage 2:
Stay relaxed and begin to make a connection with the others in the group by perceiving that we are present in the same room and formed in a circle.
Feel yourself make contact with the person on each side of you in the circle by taking their hand – one to the right and one to the left.
Feel the energy of the group grow as you make this connection.
Recognize there are groups all over who are doing similar activities with the same intention. We are connected to them as well as to each other.
A grid or network is created from this energetic connection. We receive energy from it as we feed energy to it.
Stage 3:
Place a brilliant white light over the city of St. Paul, Minnesota.
It is an intense bright light, like the sun.
Extend blue rays out from the center of that light in the four directions (north, south, east, and west).
Allow the blue rays to fill the entire city.
Stage 4:
Close by disconnecting from the group circle. Feel as though you release the hand of the person next to you and feel yourself break from the group.
Stage 5:
Thank your guidance and those in the spiritual realm for coming to assist you in this endeavor. Ask them to continue this work from their plane on your behalf throughout the week.
If you are able, you may want to repeat this process throughout the week, focusing on bringing light and energy to the meditation topic. When you do, connect to the same network or grid of energy created by the group at the original meditation session. Direct your intention to help support and grow that group energy. Be sure to disconnect from the group at the end.
Remember to report your experiences (if you choose) by e-mail, blog comment, or leave a short voice-mail message at my home office number (see General Instructions dated Thurs., Aug. 21, 2008 for more detail).

Specific Instructions for Sun., August 24, 2008
Because the Democratic National Convention will be held from Monday, August 25th through Thursday, August 28th in Denver, Colorado we will incorporate that in our focus for this first week’s meditation activity and will do the same for the Republican National Convention when it takes place the following week.

Instructions for Meditating at Alternate Dates or Times
If you are unable to join the group at the designated time (12:15 to 12:30 Eastern time on Sundays) you may still contribute to the group activity.
Choose a date and time that allows you to perform the meditation and follow the specific instructions noted for that week's effort.
Specifically direct your focus to join with the group either forward or backward in time.
Use your conscious intention and ask that your energy join that of the group.
In essence, you are creating an “energy hologram” of yourself.
Just as with the group meditation it is important to follow the instructions on disconnecting from this activity when you are done.

General Instructions
The meditation will be conducted from 12:15 to 12:30 pm (Eastern) each Sunday. Even if you cannot commit to do this every week you are welcome to participate whenever you can. For those who are unable to join us during the group meditation time slot feel free to contribute your energy through the instructions noted in the post, "Instructions for Meditating at Alternate Dates or Times."
This group meditation affords an opportunity to strengthen our connection to the spiritual realm. Participants may find they receive information, sensations, or images during the meditation sessions. My expectation is the same information may be received by multiple participants, and I would be very interested in hearing of your experiences. This is not mandatory to participate in the group meditation, but if you would like to report your perceptions you may do so through one of the following means:
1. Click on the underlined title of a post (e.g., "Specific Instructions for Sun., August 24, 2008") from the blog's main page. Then click on “Post a Comment” at the end of the blog post (anonymous comments are allowed).
2. Send an e-mail to me at k_miritello@bellsouth.net or kmiritello@gmail.com
As noted in my introductory e-mail, this is a non-partisan effort and is not about supporting or opposing any particular candidate, political party or platform. We are instead trying to help our nation return to those values on which it was founded -- integrity, honesty, ethical conduct, wisdom, enlightened decision-making, and a spirit of altruism that places the needs of the nation and constituents above self-interests. In performing this group meditation I believe the right candidates will be elected into office with the qualities this country needs. Meditation can have a powerful impact on the world and the people in it. Through this work we can help those in positions of responsibility develop the attributes necessary to conscientiously discharge their elected duties.

Project Background
This project was inspired by the work of Dion Fortune, founder of the Society of the Inner Light in England. During World War II she led a group of individuals in a technique she referred to as "mind working," a structured meditation activity that involved a concerted effort to help "maintain the strength and resilience ... of the nation."
At the time her work was controversial, for she made the decision to open this activity up to others not initiated into her society. Seldom before had a "secret" society allowed non-initiates to learn their esoteric principles and methods. But she recognized the gravity of the situation facing her country and knew it would take such an effort to marshal the assistance it needed.
Dion Fortune believed the key to the group's success involved the opening of "a channel of communication between the physical plane and the inner planes." In other words, they effected a conduit, a means of realizing here on earth the spiritual influences that invisibly govern our world. In this project we will be doing the same. We hope to bring to bear on our nation the spiritual forces allied with the principles and values on which we believe this country was founded.
For those who want to learn more about Dion Fortune's work, it is described in a book titled, "The Magical Battle of Britain." Unfortunately, it is no longer in print, but I will be posting relevant excerpts from the book as the project goes on.
