For this Sunday, May 29th, the focus for our meditation will be on Pride. As our nation pauses this weekend to commemorate our service men and women who gave their lives for their country the occasion prompts us to consider all the things for which we can be Proud about the United States. This country has been a popular target for media bashing, both domestically and abroad, yet there are many more positives that vastly outweigh the negatives that seem to seldom generate news headlines. For instance, as a nation, Americans give twice as much as the next most charitable country, topping the list with a donation level of 1.7 percent of our gross domestic product compared to the second most charitable country in the world, Great Britain, at 0.73 percent. On another level we seem to take for granted the privileges and freedoms afforded men and women alike. Having traveled to countries where women are subjected to oppressive restrictions and abuse with little recourse to protection from authorities I am always grateful and Proud of the equality we experience here. The list of admirable qualities appears limitless - the strength of our industries, the excellence of higher education, the availability and quality of medical care, the right of all citizens to vote, and on and on. This week in our prayer and meditation if we take time to reflect on the qualities that make us most Proud of our nation perhaps we can help elevate and strengthen those characteristics even more.
Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, and create the brilliant star-like light over the nation. Extend blue rays from the center of this light to the nation's four borders and then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.
Ask yourself how does it feel in my body when I am feeling a sense of Pride for my country? What does it feel like when I recognize the positive qualities of this nation that make me Proud to be American? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.
Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., May 22, 2011
For this Sunday, May 22nd, the focus for our meditation will be on Nourishment. There is a Cherokee parable that has serendipitously presented itself three times over the past week that I can no longer ignore. The tale goes like this:
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between 'two wolves' inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute, and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
I repeat this parable here to prompt us to consider this week what we are feeding. Are we seeking to Nourish that part of us that is Good? How do we Nourish that inner goodness in a way that helps to amplify all those positive qualities even further? Are there things we are doing that perhaps serve instead to feed the other side -- habits or thought patterns that we need to change in our life? I like to imagine what this nation could become if everyone sought to feed the "Good wolf." Think about what it would be like if we directed all the tremendous individual energy present in this country toward increasing qualities of love, hope, compassion, generosity, etc. This week in our prayer and meditation let us ask that the "Good wolf" be Nourished so that is characteristics may bloom and grow in a way that completely fills this nation.
Ask yourself how does it feel in my body when I am doing things that Nourish the "Good wolf" inside me? What does it feel like when that part of me that represents everything that is good is being Nourished so that it may grow even greater? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.
Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., May 15, 2011
For this Sunday, May 15th, the focus for our meditation will be on Resurrection. This week the nation prepares for what is anticipated to become some of the worst flooding states in the Midwest and South have experienced in almost 100 years. As the Mississippi River continues to rise areas from Memphis to Louisiana are being impacted by the flood waters which are not expected to crest for another week. It remains to be seen what will happen to the land that becomes submerged in the process. Homes will presumably be rebuilt but what about the vast acres of farm land that will consequently be destroyed? In ancient Egypt the annual flooding of the Nile River was part of their way of life. The regular occurrence was seen as a renewal of the land by distributing valuable silt from the river that enriched its fertility. The same may happen with floods, or the immense waves of water may instead carry off fertile topsoil and leave a barren wasteland in the wake of what was previously lush farm acreage. It may be that those who make their living from these lands will have to find a different crop or another way to make the land bountiful once more. Perhaps, just as the mythical phoenix rises from the ashes those who live along the flooded sections will find a new and better way to work the land. In our prayer and meditation this week we want to ask that those whose lives depend on these flooded lands find a way to Resurrect their usefulness and restore life and prosperity to those regions.
Ask yourself how does it feel in my body when I am aware of the ability to Resurrect a positive outcome from what initially seemed a disaster? What does it feel like when I experience renewal from the change brought about by a Resurrection in my life? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.
Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., May 8, 2011
For this Sunday, May 8th, the focus for our meditation will be on Celebration. I was struck this week by the reaction of people around the country to the news of Osama Bin Laden's death. For me, personally, what I felt was relief. Relief that this mission was finally brought to a close. Relief and compassion for the family members of the victims of 9/11 that they might now perhaps find some closure. Relief and gratitude that no members of the military team were killed or injured in the operation. But not rejoicing. It was interesting to note the response of several spiritual leaders, including the Dalai Lama and the Vatican. Each communicated a message of objectivity that seemed to acknowledge the necessity of the act. While there was no apparent denunciation of the mission there was clearly also no jubilation. If we consider this lifetime to be an opportunity for us to further evolve and progress spiritually we want to consider what events truly deserve Celebration in our life. There are likely to be events worthy of Celebration that reflect what we are aiming to become as a spiritual being rather than rejoice over the loss of a life. This week in our prayer and meditation let us ponder the question what do you want to choose to honor and Celebrate?
Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, and create the brilliant star-like light over the nation. Extend blue rays from the center of this light to the nation's four borders and then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.
Ask yourself how does it feel in my body when I am Celebrating something that is a reflection of my higher self? What does it feel like when I know there is something that is worthy of Celebration in my life? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.
Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.
