Meditation Instructions for Sun., March 31, 2013

For this Sunday, March 31st, the focus for our meditation will be on Reflection.  When light rays shine upon an object the frequencies of energy that are not absorbed into the surface end up being Reflected back, producing the appearance of color, texture, etc.  We rely on the availability of light to be able to Reflect our presence to others.  This goes far beyond mere cosmetic appearance and can instead offer a sense of the beauty and light we contain inside.  Perhaps we are afraid to fully show our light and Reflect out to the world our true essence.  This week in our prayer and meditation let us ponder how we allow light to Reflect what we are to the world.  Does the image that is Reflected resemble us at our best, or do we want to show more light in the Reflection that appears?

In our efforts this week let us also use the energy of our prayers and meditation to amplify the light that covers and fills this nation.  As we perform our meditation let us re-energize the brilliance and power of the light we create.  Begin by forming a concentrated ball of light that is so bright it is almost impossible to look directly at it.  Raise this sphere of light up high over the nation and then let its rays cascade down to create a solid, impenetrable dome of light that completely covers every inch of our country.  From shore to shore and border to border let the entire continent be filled with this brilliant, dense light that will serve to magnify the best and highest qualities of our country and the people who live across its vast lands.

Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, and connect to the circle of others participating in this project.

Ask yourself how do I feel when I am aware of and like the image that I Reflect out to the world?  How does it feel in my body when I want to show in my Reflection to others the light that is present inside?  Then send the energy and intention of those feelings to the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., March 24, 2013

For this Sunday, March 24th, the focus for our meditation will be on Innocence.  There is something so enviable about the state of Innocence of a young child.  They live neither in the past, beating themselves up for mistakes made, nor do they wait anxiously for what will come in the anticipation it will bring a better time than the present.  Instead, they live completely in the moment without any expectation.  All whom they meet are accepted openly without judgment.  Those with Innocence feel no need to measure themselves against others and assume an air of either superiority or inferiority in comparison.  They just are and allow others to be what they want without any demands for change.  While it may not seem practical to be in a constant state of Innocence as we move through our daily life there are some advantages to occasionally reclaiming that state.  It can allow us to more clearly see the wonder of the world around us and take notice of all the beauty and miraculous signs of life we encounter.  This week in our prayer and meditation let us consider whether there are changes we can make that allow us to once again feel that state of Innocence.  Perhaps we need to slow down, scale back, or simply take time to just breathe and be in the totality of the moment.  Let us ask that we be shown how to reclaim our lost Innocence so that we may more fully appreciate the wonder of life.

Ask yourself how do I feel when I have a sense of Innocence that renders me more accepting and less judgmental?  How does it feel in my body when I view life with an Innocence that makes me more appreciative of all it brings?  Then send the energy and intention of those feelings to the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., March 17, 2013

For this Sunday, March 17th, the focus for our meditation will be on Laughter.  For some people it is easy to take life too seriously.  We find ourselves so burdened by responsibilities and tasks to accomplish that we hurry through life trying to squeeze more and more in.  As a result, we may not be taking time to stop and just enjoy the moment.  Laughter actually has a positive physiological benefit in that it increases the amount of oxygen in our body.  It forces us to breathe more deeply, taking more oxygen into our circulatory system and increasing the levels of oxygen in the brain which enhances our ability to think.  There are studies that have shown the healing action of Laughter, indicating we recover faster when we watch a funny movie that makes us erupt into peals of delight.  There is even a form of yoga based on encouraging healthy levels of Laughter while engaging in different movements.  In a more personal focus this week let us consider in our meditation whether we appreciate the value of Laughter in our life.  Do we take time to truly relish a good joke or savor the humor of a funny moment?  Or, do we instead tend to take things too seriously and perhaps miss the opportunity for more Laughter in our life?  This week let us ask that we find time in our busy lives to stop and appreciate the value of Laughter and recognize the benefits it can bring to us all.

Ask yourself how do I feel when I appreciate how Laughter improves my mood and sense of well-being?  How does it feel in my body when I recognize the presence of humor that allows me to freely let go in Laughter?  Then send the energy and intention of those feelings to the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., March 10, 2013

For this Sunday, March 10th, the focus for our meditation will once again be on Alignment.  Last week we asked that our elected officials find themselves in Alignment with their constituents in the hope it might reduce some of the bipartisan bickering that has been happening.  However, a recent survey shows the polarization of our politicians may in fact represent the views of those who put them in office.  The survey asked Americans what position they would take on various issues.  What they found was people were much more likely to take sides with a position the researchers claimed was endorsed by their political party.  In other words, we as the American public so strongly identify ourselves with our political affiliation that it tends to alter our own independent opinions.  As a result, we find ourselves so polarized as a nation that it is no wonder our politicians can’t come to agreement on important issues.  While diversity in viewpoints is healthy and needed, this survey indicates that we are so strongly Aligned with our political beliefs that it can be divisive.  Instead, in our prayer and meditation this week let us ask that as we seek to retain the ability to hold differing views we find ourselves in Alignment on those issues that represent our highest good as a nation.  May we recognize the importance of sometimes placing our own opinions subordinate to what best serves the future of this country and come into better Alignment with each other across this nation.

Ask yourself how do I feel when I have a clear sense of being in Alignment with what serves my higher self?  How does it feel in my body when I recognize the importance of a group being in Alignment with the goals they seek to achieve?  Then send the energy and intention of those feelings to the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., March 3, 2013

For this Sunday, March 3rd, the focus for our meditation will be on Alignment.  With the continuing budgetary battles between Congress and the White House, Republicans opposing Democrats, or fiscal conservatives versus fiscal liberals, what is clear is that our elected officials seem to have lost sight of the purpose for their service in public office.  Many surveys show Americans are unhappy with the budgetary wrangling that has created much angst for those who worry necessary services and resources will be eliminated or at a minimum interrupted.  Rather than focus on the true needs of their constituents it appears that politicians seem more focused on not losing face by being unwilling to moderate their views.  As a result, they have lost sight of the fact that their actions and objectives have come out of Alignment with those of the people they serve.  In our meditation efforts this week let us ask that our elected officials take a thoughtful approach to the decisions they are making and recognize the importance of having those actions reflect the best intentions for those whom they represent in office.  If our politicians take the time to consider the views and needs of their constituents and seek to bring their decisions in Alignment with those needs we will all ultimately find ourselves better served.
