For this Sunday, January 31st, the focus for our meditation will be on Passion. Passion is a key aspect of our vitality. When we are Passionate about something it often moves us in a different direction from where we are and drives us to take action. With the winter Olympics about to begin in two weeks there will be many opportunities to see Passion as athletes from all across the globe meet to try and perform at their very best on a world platform. Given the dedication and sacrifice required for these athletes to accomplish what they do Passion for their sport must be at the core of what motivates them. As we prepare to watch these young people strive to excel we want to also examine where we feel Passion in our own lives. What pushes us to improve the way we perform as conscientious human beings? Additionally, we want to examine how our own country is perceived in terms of its Passions. Rather than being seen as a nation consumed with Passion over celebrities and professional athletes we want to be recognized as having Passion for such issues as human rights, decency, and peaceful diplomacy.
Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, create the brilliant star-like light over the nation and extend blue rays to its four borders, then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.
Ask yourself how does it feel in my body when I am Passionate about something? What does it feel like when I am experiencing Passion? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.
Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., Jan. 24, 2010
For this Sunday, January 24th, the focus for our meditation will be on Success. How would you define Success? I can recall a class exercise in high school where we had to create our own obituary. The purpose was to imagine your life’s accomplishments and what you would most want people to remember after you were gone. I have no recollection of what I wrote, but I’m quite sure my life thus far doesn’t resemble what I expected at the time. When you think about how your own life may have diverged from what you imagined as a youth perhaps your own notion of Success has similarly changed. Hopefully it has more to do with the contentment one gains through achieving important goals or the relationships you have and less about one’s bank balance. The purpose of our meditation this week is to help foster a sense of what Success really means and what consequently becomes most important in one’s life. Additionally, we want to consider what is needed for our country to be Successful in what really matters for us to progress as a nation.
Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, create the brilliant star-like light over the nation and extend blue rays to its four borders, then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.
Ask yourself how does it feel in my body when I am being Successful? What does it feel like when my actions result in Success? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.
Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

During this week's meditation please also send light to the people of Haiti to help guide them through this difficult time. I visited there in 2002 and found them to be a beautiful people living in desperate circumstances even then -- it is hard to imagine how much more challenging their lives have become.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., Jan. 17, 2010
For this Sunday, January 17th, the focus for our meditation will be on Assertiveness. Being Assertive with integrity comes from a place where we are sure in what we know and most importantly are grounded in our knowing. When we are ungrounded in our knowing we come across as aggressive or pushy. Instead, if validity and integrity are underpinning our position we can hold fast to it without worry that it may run contrary to what others think. How do we become grounded in our knowing? By learning discernment and refining our ability to sense whether what we are thinking is supported with energy that feels connected to something other than ourselves. Does what we believe or think feel grounded in the earth? When we are certain about our knowing we can "stand our ground" and express what we are thinking in a more effective manner. Speaking with Assertiveness then means speaking from a place of truth that others need to hear.
Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, create the brilliant star-like light over the nation and extend blue rays to its four borders, then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.
Ask yourself how does it feel in my body when I am being Assertive with integrity? What does it feel like when my knowing is grounded and I can speak with honest Assertiveness? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.
Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., Jan. 10, 2010
For this Sunday, January 10th, the focus for our meditation will be on Security. Recent events might prompt us to think of security lapses at the White House or in airline screening procedures, but without diminishing the importance of either they merely bring about a superficial sense of security. To make something secure implies that it brings freedom from fear or danger. However, more often than not the imposition of “security” measures have the contrary result and make people feel more fearful and threatened. When you think about it, what could possibly ever guarantee anyone’s total security? How many times do people feel that they would be more secure if they only had a larger bank account, a better job, the right car or home, or the perfect relationship? Have you ever heard of instances when someone in a Job-like string of misfortune lost everything they possessed yet were later able to resurrect themselves? Clearly whatever their previous notions of security were based on were mistaken. In our meditation this week we want to examine what in our own lives is really needed in order for us to feel secure and reduce our anxiety about what the future may bring. What is at the core of my being and essential for me to feel secure and not threatened by the unexpected? What is of fundamental importance for this nation to feel a sense of security? The answers may surprise us and reveal what is truly important in our lives.
Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, create the brilliant star-like light over the nation and extend blue rays to its four borders, then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.
Ask yourself how does it feel in my body when I am feeling a sense of Security? What is it that makes me feel truly Secure? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.
Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., Jan. 3, 2010
For this Sunday, January 3rd, the focus for our meditation will be on Opportunity. As we enter 2010 we want to ask that Opportunity be brought to those in need. May those who have been seeking work find the Opportunity for rewarding and satisfying employment. May those who are in need of improved health find the Opportunity to replenish their energy and restore their body, mind, and spirit to a rejuvenated and whole state. May those who desire meaningful relationships find the Opportunity to encounter individuals who will enrich their life. May our nation be given the Opportunity to successfully engage in peaceful diplomacy, to model a finer standard for other nations to want to emulate, and to restore its integrity as we enter a new decade. May each individual who participates in this meditation be given the Opportunities they seek throughout 2010 and be granted with joy, love, and spiritual growth in return.
As a reminder, we typically form as a group in our focused meditation every Sunday from 12:15 to 12:30 pm (Eastern time) and return to bring more energy to the same theme throughout the week as time permits. If you are unable to participate at that particular time there are instructions posted on how to energetically contribute at either an earlier or later time (please see "Instructions for Meditating at Alternate Dates or Times" posted on August 21, 2008). A few minutes before 12:15 you may want to get into your meditation posture and begin the relaxation phase.
Stage 1:
Sit (or lay down) so that you are relaxed and comfortable but your spine is straight and aligned over your pelvis (if seated). Begin by taking several slow, deep breaths. Follow the sensation of the breath down into your body. Breathe into your spine, your hips, and then your legs. Feel the breath reach your feet on the floor and then feel the connection through your feet to the earth's energy. Draw the earth's energy up through your feet into your body. Feel your body fill completely with this energy from your breath and the earth. Invite your own personal spiritual guides to join you in the meditation. Ask for those in the spiritual realm (especially the nation's Founding Fathers) who want to assist us in this project to be present. If you have trouble feeling centered and fully in your body or feeling grounded to the earth ask Guidance to help you.
Stage 2:
Stay relaxed and begin to make a connection with the others in the group by perceiving that we are present in the same room and formed in a circle. Feel yourself make contact with the person on each side of you in the circle by taking their hand -- one to the right and one to the left. Feel the energy of the group grow as you make this connection. Recognize there are groups all over who are doing similar activities with the same intention. We are connected to them as well as to each other. Feel the grid or network that is created from this energetic connection. We receive energy from it as we feed energy to it.
Stage 3:
Place a brilliant white light over the center of the country. Extend blue rays out from the center of that light in the four directions (north, south, east, and west). The blue rays fill the country from border to border and sea to sea. Connect to the energetic grid or network created across the circle. Use that grid to direct energy to the manitou of the nation [See "Meditation Instructions for Sun., Sept. 7, 2008" for explanation] with the intent of sending a request for Opportunity across the nation.
The way to do this is to perceive in your body how it feels when Opportunity presents itself to you. Ask yourself how do I feel when I am aware of Opportunity in my life? How does it feel in my body when I recognize Opportunities that come to me? Hold that sensation and allow it to intensify as you feed that energy to the grid or network with each breath.
Stage 4:
Close by disconnecting from the group circle. Feel as though you release the hand of the person next to you and feel yourself break from the group.
Stage 5:
Thank your guidance and those in the spiritual realm for coming to assist you in this endeavor. Ask them to continue this work from their plane on your behalf throughout the week. If you are able, you may want to repeat this process throughout the week, focusing on bringing light and energy to the meditation topic. When you do, connect to the same network or grid of energy created by the group at the original meditation session. Direct your intention to help support and grow that group energy. Be sure to disconnect from the group at the end.
