Meditation Instructions for Sun., Mar. 29, 2009

For this coming Sunday, March 29th, the focus for our meditation will be on Community. Modern life and all the conveniences it brings has gradually contributed to a weakening of the once important family unit with present-day transportation and communication capabilities making it more common for families to be geographically dispersed. With this change also comes the loss of an embedded support network that used to exist within the extended family. As a result, people can feel isolated and alone when they have needs they can't meet on their own. Rather than looking to the government to become our social surrogate we want to increase people's willingness to generate their own support networks in the communities where they live, work, or go to school. Where are there individuals around us who have needs that can be met simply by having a social network of caring people they can turn to? If we foster this sense of looking out for each other we strengthen our community ties and become healthier as a nation as a result. This week in our meditation we want to enhance people's willingness to lend assistance to those around them and build a greater desire for Community among the people of this nation .

Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, create the brilliant star-like light over the nation and extend blue rays to its four borders, then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.

Ask yourself how does the quality of wanting to be part of a Community feel in my body, or how do I feel when I am filled with a desire for Community? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., Mar. 22, 2009

For this coming Sunday, March 22nd, the focus for our meditation will be on Joy. Last week we put our attention toward enhancing people's spirit of generosity, and this week we continue with a variation of this theme. Instead of material abundance we will focus on appreciating all that is present in life that deserves to be celebrated and rejoiced. There is a quality that has helped people survive the most difficult of circumstances that goes beyond mere optimism -- it is the ability to find even the smallest facet of their being that makes them cherish each moment of being alive. When you think about how miraculous life is to begin with, and then consider the incredible complexity and intricacy of how our bodies work, there is something to be celebrated and grateful for in just appreciating how truly extraordinary we are as physical beings. Even for those with physical challenges, or those who may be in pain, there is some aspect of experiencing life that can be cherished. If people can discover what this aspect is that makes them feel alive it will resonate through their body and communicate a sense of Joy to those around them. By filling this nation with a stronger sense of Joy it will make us more resilient as a people to weather even difficult times.

Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, create the brilliant star-like light over the nation and extend blue rays to its four borders, then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.

Ask yourself how does the quality of Joyfulness feel in my body, or how do I feel when I am filled with a spirit of Joy? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., Mar. 15, 2009

For this coming Sunday, March 15th, the focus for our meditation will be on Generosity. Even in these strained financial times people need to retain their capacity to be generous with others. It would be easy to rationalize the tendency to be miserly and to adopt the "lack of abundance" mentality that led to hoarding following the Great Depression. Instead, we want to instill an awareness of all the abundance that still exists in this great nation and for people to find it in themselves to give when needed. No matter how much loss we may be experiencing as a result of the financial crises occurring around us there is always the ability to share what we have with others. I recently spent time with the Squamish people of Vancouver, B.C., a First Nations tribe that is not marked by wealth by any means, yet they show an incredibly generous spirit. We want to spread that willing spirit of Generosity across the people of this nation and in doing so reduce the disparity between those who have and those who are in want.

Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, create the brilliant star-like light over the nation and extend blue rays to its four borders, then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.

Ask yourself how does the quality of Generosity feel in my body, or how do I feel when I am being Generous? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.

Meditation Instructions for Sun., March 8, 2009

For this coming Sunday, March 8th, the focus for our meditation will be on asking for a desire for Peace. For this country to progress to a state where we can sincerely engage the rest of the world in a peaceful manner the desire for Peace must permeate beyond just the confines of government in Washington. If as individuals we each carry the spirit of Peace in our bodies this energy can impact the thinking and desires of those we encounter in our everyday activities. For this coming week not only do you want to be reflective on the notion of Peace in your meditation but also as you move through the world at home, at work, and in your neighborhood. Be mindful of how you project the energy of Peace in your thoughts, words, and actions throughout the week and beyond. If we consciously work to manifest this spirit not only in our meditation times but also in every aspect of our presence here on earth we can help to "move the needle" in shifting the nation's consciousness toward more peaceful objectives.

As a reminder, we typically form as a group in our focused meditation every Sunday from 12:15 to 12:30 pm (Eastern time) and return to bring more energy to the same theme throughout the week as time permits. If you are unable to participate at that particular time there are instructions posted on how to energetically contribute at either an earlier or later time (please see "Instructions for Meditating at Alternate Dates or Times" posted on August 21, 2008).

A few minutes before 12:15 you may want to get into your meditation posture and begin the relaxation phase.

Stage 1:
Sit (or lay down) so that you are relaxed and comfortable but your spine is straight and aligned over your pelvis (if seated).
Begin by taking several slow, deep breaths.
Follow the sensation of the breath down into your body.
Breathe into your spine, your hips, and then your legs.
Feel the breath reach your feet on the floor and then feel the connection through your feet to the earth’s energy.
Draw the earth’s energy up through your feet into your body.
Feel your body fill completely with this energy from your breath and the earth.
Invite your own personal spiritual guides to join you in the meditation.
Ask for those in the spiritual realm (especially the nation's Founding Fathers) who want to assist us in this project to be present.
If you have trouble feeling centered and fully in your body or feeling grounded to the earth ask Guidance to help you.

Stage 2:
Stay relaxed and begin to make a connection with the others in the group by perceiving that we are present in the same room and formed in a circle.
Feel yourself make contact with the person on each side of you in the circle by taking their hand – one to the right and one to the left. Feel the energy of the group grow as you make this connection.
Recognize there are groups all over who are doing similar activities with the same intention. We are connected to them as well as to each other.
Feel the grid or network that is created from this energetic connection. We receive energy from it as we feed energy to it.

Stage 3:
Place a brilliant white light over the center of the country.
Extend blue rays out from the center of that light in the four directions (north, south, east, and west).
The blue rays fill the country from border to border and sea to sea.
Connect to the energetic grid or network created across the circle. Use that grid to direct energy to the manitou of the nation [See Meditation Instructions for Sun., Sept. 7, 2008 for explanation] with the intent of increasing the desire for Peace.
The way to do this is to perceive in your body what the quality of Peace feels like. Ask yourself, "What does it feel like in my body when I am feeling Peaceful?" Hold that sensation and allow it to intensify as you feed that energy to the grid or network with each breath.

Stage 4:
Close by disconnecting from the group circle.
Feel as though you release the hand of the person next to you and feel yourself break from the group.

Stage 5:
Thank your guidance and those in the spiritual realm for coming to assist you in this endeavor. Ask them to continue this work from their plane on your behalf throughout the week.

If you are able, you may want to repeat this process throughout the week, focusing on bringing light and energy to the meditation topic. When you do, connect to the same network or grid of energy created by the group at the original meditation session. Direct your intention to help support and grow that group energy. Be sure to disconnect from the group at the end.
