Meditation Instructions for Sun., April 24, 2011

For this Sunday, April 24th, the focus for our meditation will be on Effort. I recently came across a quotation by a woman I greatly admire, Eleanor Roosevelt. She said, "Surely, in the light of history, it is more intelligent to hope rather than to fear, to try rather than not to try. For one thing we know beyond all doubt: Nothing has ever been achieved by a person who says, 'It can't be done.'" Such words encourage us to step out of our doubt and uncertainty and make the Effort needed to take on a challenge we might otherwise forego. Whether it is fear of failure or feeling overwhelmed by a seemingly insurmountable task, there are so many potential obstacles that can prevent us from tackling a difficult endeavor. Yet inaction most certainly dooms us to failure, for we are held back from even making an attempt. In our meditation this week we want to ask where in our life we may be avoiding taking that first step and making the Effort required to take on a daunting challenge or where we may need to apply more Effort to carry through on a task we have begun.

Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, connect to the circle of others participating in this project, and create the brilliant, star-like light over the nation. Extend blue rays from the center of this light to the nation's four borders and then connect to the grid or matrix that extends from the circle.

Ask yourself how does it feel in my body when I am successfully able to apply a level of Effort required to overcome inertia in my life? What does it feel like when I am able to summon the Effort to carry through a task to completion? Then send the energy and intention of that feeling to the grid for the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.
