Meditation Instructions for Sun., May 13, 2018

For this Sunday, May 13th, the focus for our meditation will be on being Stalwart.  The exploitation of fear in a populace is a timeless tactic used by those who wish to manipulate the thinking of others.  It is easier to influence the decision-making process by persuading people there is a vaguely-defined threat that makes them flee toward a position they might otherwise never take than it is to try and reason with them.  Such was the ammunition of the Inquisition, the Salem witch trials, and countless other despicable periods in human history when a group of people tried to dominate the thinking of others.  In modern times we encounter this regularly in political campaigns when a candidate seeks to gain votes not by proving their merit but by instead disparaging their opponent and driving fear into the hearts of voters as to what will happen if the other individual is elected.  All sides can and have played this game; it is not the sole bastion of one particular group or political party or even nation.  The antidote to such manipulation is to remain Stalwart in the face of an unknown or ill-defined threat.  Rather than over-react in the face of ambiguity it is best to remain firm and summon the courage to explore the unknown.  In other words, before we engage in a knee-jerk reaction based in fear we would be better served to stay neutral and first try to learn more about the issue.  Through the objective examination of all sides may we then be suitably armed to make a more informed decision.  The challenge can be to stave off the feelings of panic some can try to induce to prevent people from looking too closely into the real facts.  They attempt to create a false sense of urgency so we become tempted to skip the careful thought process and just react.  However, if we can remain calm and courageous we are less vulnerable to such manipulation.  This week in our prayer and meditation time let us ask that this nation find the means to remain Stalwart in the face of efforts to incite fear and manipulate our thinking.  May all be willing to pause before making a critical decision and take time to carefully consider all the facts.

In our efforts this week let us also continue to use the energy of our prayers and meditation to amplify the light that covers and fills this nation.  As we perform our meditation this week let us begin by re-energizing the brilliance and power of the light we create.  Just as before, begin by forming a concentrated ball of light that is so bright it is almost impossible to look directly at it.  Raise this sphere of light up high over the nation and then let its rays cascade down to create a solid, impenetrable dome of light that completely covers every inch of our country.  From shore to shore and border to border let the entire continent be filled with this brilliant, dense light that will serve to magnify the best and highest qualities of our country and the people who live across its vast lands.

Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, and connect to the circle of others participating in this project.

Ask yourself what do I feel in my body when I am able to remain Stalwart in the face of an unknown threat?  How does it feel in my body when I am able to suppress feelings of panic and become Stalwart to take time and think before acting?  Then send the energy and intention of those feelings to the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.
