Meditation Instructions for Sun., December 6, 2020

For this Sunday, December 6th, the focus for our meditation will be on Charity.  Those Charitable organizations that help serve the underprivileged, the homeless, or families struggling to adequately feed themselves are being particularly hard-hit this year because of the pandemic.  Fundraiser events they relied on heavily in the past to sustain their programs were canceled or significantly scaled back at the same time that they faced a growing need for their services.  Many have lost the assistance of volunteers who are not able to participate in group activities because of the need for physical distancing.  As a result, paid staff are being stretched thin by having to take on volunteer duties in addition to their own.  Most of us have not been immune to the financial pressures of this pandemic, but those who rely on the aid of Charitable groups are facing an even greater strain.  With diminishing resources and an increasing need for assistance the threads that hold our social service networks together are becoming frayed.  I’m not a big believer in federal government handouts and instead support a model where local communities take responsibility for those less fortunate among them.  If people at a community level contribute even just a small amount of any excess resources they have, whether financial or material, that excess can be distributed to those in need.  You don’t have to be a wealthy philanthropist to make a difference.  Many small contributions truly do add up.  This holiday season, please consider finding a local Charity that you can do something for to help their mission.  If you can donate even just five dollars, or have extra clothing or other possessions, please share what you have with these groups.  Consider contributing online to a local toy drive or food bank.  There are so many ways we can help, even under our present circumstances of not being able to gather together.  This week in our prayer and meditation time let us ask to be guided as to how we may assist others in need of Charity.  May we come to recognize the abundance many of us have and how we are always able to share even a little with someone who has far less.

In our efforts this week let us also continue to use the energy of our prayers and meditation to amplify the light that covers and fills this nation.  As we perform our meditation this week let us begin by re-energizing the brilliance and power of the light we create.  Just as before, begin by forming a concentrated ball of light that is so bright it is almost impossible to look directly at it.  Raise this sphere of light up high over the nation and then let its rays cascade down to create a solid, impenetrable dome of light that completely covers every inch of our country.  From shore to shore and border to border let the entire continent be filled with this brilliant, dense light that will serve to magnify the best and highest qualities of our country and the people who live across its vast lands.

Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us and connect to the circle of others participating in this project.

Ask yourself what do I feel in my body when I appreciate the importance of being Charitable to those in need?  How does it feel in my body when I recognize the abundance I have and am happy to Charitably share even a small amount with others?  Then send the energy and intention of those feelings to the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.
