Meditation Instructions for Sun., January 21, 2018

For this Sunday, January 21st, the focus for our meditation will be on the Subconscious.  I wonder how many of us, having with the best of intentions made New Year’s resolutions, already lapsed back into old habits?  Despite our conscious mind telling us all the good reasons why we should do something that is better for us, we can find it incredibly easy to rationalize away our motivation to follow through.  Researchers say that to truly change one’s behavior you need to engage the Subconscious mind.  While initially the adopted change in behavior may need to be directed consciously, the need for repetition is important to help embed the change more permanently.  Through repetition the desired behavior becomes more Subconscious, and we gradually evolve to reflexively perform the new behavior without having to think about it so much.  Another advantage to relying more on the Subconscious mind is it helps us continue to move forward in the face of confusion or fear.  When we feel threatened or our situation just isn’t making sense it is easy to want to freeze in place.  The Subconscious mind is what directs our instinct for survival, so in the presence of the unknown it pushes us to action.  It is as though the Subconscious mind holds more faith than the conscious mind, for it knows if we can just step beyond where we are now things will be better.  This week in our prayer and meditation time let us reflect on better appreciating our Subconscious mind and all it does to help us, especially in uncertain times.  Let us ask to be guided how to rely more on the intuition that comes from our Subconscious mind and recognize how it can assist us in adapting better to change.

In our efforts this week let us also continue to use the energy of our prayers and meditation to amplify the light that covers and fills this nation.  As we perform our meditation this week let us begin by re-energizing the brilliance and power of the light we create.  Just as before, begin by forming a concentrated ball of light that is so bright it is almost impossible to look directly at it.  Raise this sphere of light up high over the nation and then let its rays cascade down to create a solid, impenetrable dome of light that completely covers every inch of our country.  From shore to shore and border to border let the entire continent be filled with this brilliant, dense light that will serve to magnify the best and highest qualities of our country and the people who live across its vast lands.

Please follow the same practice as before: Get centered in your body, ask to bring in your guides and others who are there to assist us, and connect to the circle of others participating in this project.

Ask yourself what do I feel in my body when I trust and follow through on the instincts that come from my Subconscious mind?  How does it feel in my body when I rely more on my Subconscious mind to help direct my actions?  Then send the energy and intention of those feelings to the nation.

Be sure to disconnect from the circle at the end and express thanks for those who have helped us in this effort.
